  • New Hampshire: Officer In Breakdown Lane Struck By Mass. Driver

    A Massachusetts man has been accused of driving into a breakdown lane and hitting a police officer with his passenger side mirror in New Hampshire before speeding off. Police said 23-year-old Zachary Rowland of Pepperell, Massachusetts, was charged early Saturday with conduct after an accident, disobeying a police officer and aggravated driving while intoxicated.   • Massachusetts: Firefighter Dragged by Civilian Car Which Ran Over Hose

    A Chelsea firefighter is in the hospital and the cops are looking for a driver who fled the scene on Library Street after a Thanksgiving Day incident. The CFD responded to a small oven fire in the area at about 1400. One firefighter was hooking up to a hydrant when a car drove over the hose. The hose was jammed under the car, causing it to drag the firefighter to the ground. It isn’t clear how far the firefighter was dragged.

    Police are investigating after a Dunedin City Council parking enforcement officer's scooter was allegedly rammed from behind by a motorist yesterday.

  • Virginia: Driver Loses Control, Hits Fire Truck

    A driver lost control of his car and hit a Hillsville Fire Department truck. It happened on I-77 northbound where the fire truck was waiting for traffic to clear. According to state police, the driver of a Honda Civic lost control and ran into the crossover and hit the truck in the side.   • Florida: Clearwater Officer Struck During Charitable Operation

    A Clearwater Police officer was rushed to the hospital on Monday after being hit by a van. According to Clearwater Police, the officer was working off-duty traffic detail as part of the Salvation Army's Turkey Giveaway. The accident happened at 1 p.m. near the intersection of S. Highland Ave. and Jasmine Way. Officer Fontayne Egger, a 25-year veteran, was directing traffic on Highland Avenue when a van trying to turn north onto Highland suddenly accelerated and veered into her.   • Pennsylvania: Philly Police Officer Struck By Suspect In Kensington

    A Philadelphia Police officer is injured after pursuing a shooting suspect in Kensington. It happened after officers responded to a report of a person with a gun on the 2300 block of North Fairhill Street around 5:00pm Saturday. While police tried to stop the suspect's car as it fled the scene on the 100 block of West Cambria Street, one officer was struck by the fleeing vehicle.   • Ohio: Cincinati Police and Fire Personnel Struck

    A Cincinnati Police officer and firefighter were injured after they were struck while responding to crashes on westbound Ronald Reagan Highway Saturday morning. District Four Officer Jeff Schare was responding to an overturned 2003 Acura when the driver of a Ford Five Hundred struck the Acura, pinning Schare between the car and retaining wall. Officer Schare was able to free himself and extricate the driver of the Acura. They were both transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A short time later, a Cincinnati Fire Department ladder truck was struck head-on by a Nissan Maxima, according to a press release from Cincinnati's Traffic Unit. Fire Officer Robin Woods was knocked to the ground from the impact.

  • California: 4 Firefighters Injured in 210 Freeway Crash in Rancho Cucamonga

    Four firefighters were injured in a crash on the 210 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga early Friday morning. Two cars collided on the westbound lanes at Haven Avenue around 12:26 a.m. While the California Highway Patrol and firefighters were helping, a tanker truck plowed into their vehicles.

  • Canada: Worker Hit by Vehicle at Nova Scotia Construction Site in Cape Breton

    Cape Breton police have arrested a man after a worker was hit by a vehicle at a construction site. The worker was handling traffic control Thursday at the corner of Sidella Drive and Reeves Street in Sydney.

  • Utah: Fourth Trooper Car Struck in Ten Days

    Another Utah Highway Patrol vehicle was hit on the side of Interstate 15 on Wednesday night. It's the 4th trooper car to get hit in the last 10 days. The accident took place in Orem as troopers were in the process of clearing 4 separate car crashes. An SUV was rear-ended by a pickup truck which pushed the SUV into the trooper's car on the side of the freeway. The two troopers were outside of the car and were able to get out of the way in time and were not injured. UHP officials are now reminding everyone to slow down, move over, and be careful.
