New York: Firefighter Struck While Directing Traffic
This morning, a member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department (Orange County, NY, about an hour north of NYC) was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic in front of their firehouse on Route 17k. Firefighter Charlie Wallace was assisting an engine company that was responding to a mutual aid standby call-when he was struck. As of 1800 this evening, Wallace remains in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center-where he was taken by medevac.

New York: I Want to Kill Officers-Man Who tried to Run Over Officers
A man yelling “I want to kill cops” tried to run down two Port Authority Police officers with his car near the entrance to the ¬Holland Tunnel Wednesday night in the latest attack on officers.

Indiana: Speeding Driver Hits State Trooper’s Car
Just after 6:30 a.m. on I-65 north, a car driven by 32-year-old Siang Hnin, of Indianapolis, was following a semitrailer. Police said when the semi slowed down, Hnin was unable to slow and changed lanes to avoid hitting the rear of the semi. However, he struck an Indiana State Police trooper’s Charger that was marking a semi from an earlier crash. ISP said the trooper had his emergency lights on and was slowing traffic in the left lane to assist with crash removal.

Maryland: Dump Truck Intentionally Hits 2 Prince George’s County Cruisers
A dump truck rammed into two Prince George’s County cruisers in Glenarden Wednesday, and police believe it was intentional. Police say the dump truck hit the two cruisers in the Woodmore Town Center parking lot near Route 202 and I-95. Preliminarily, police believe the dump truck intentionally hit the cruisers and the driver is in custody.

Pennsylvania: Philadelphia Officer Struck By Vehicle in Strawberry Mansion, Suspect In Custody
Authorities have charged 23 year old Dominique Fallins after he struck a Philadelphia Police officer with his vehicle, late Thursday morning. The incident took place at 11:30am Thursday at the intersection of 32nd Street and Susquehanna Avenue when officers pulled over a silver Chevrolet Impala with Ohio plates.

Texas: Officer Injured After Being Struck by Car
A Glenn Heights police officer is in the hospital after he was struck by a car Wednesday night, according to DPS officials. Around 8:15 p.m., the officer was standing outside his police cruiser along Ovilla Road and Dorothy Lane when he was hit. Canada: Wallace Fire Chief Hit by Vehicle at Crash Scene
No charges were laid against a driver who hit the Wallace District Fire Department chief while he was attending to a highway accident involving a family of eight. During whiteout conditions on the Trans-Canada Highway Friday afternoon, fire Chief Brad Yochim, along with other firefighters, were at a crash scene just west of Elkhorn when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. Texas Wreck Damages Firer Truck
One of Plainview’s fire engines is now out of service after being damaged in a weather-related traffic mishap on Friday. According to Fire Chief Rusty Powers, Engine 3 was providing backup to an EMS unit at the scene of a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 27 about 7 p.m. Friday when it was struck by another vehicle after that driver lost control on the ice-covered roadway. “It’s fortunate that Engine 3 was there blocking the scene, or we possibly could have had members of our EMS crew seriously injured or even killed,” Powers said.

Colorado: Off-Duty Sergeant Killed While Directing Traffic at an Accident
An off-duty Jefferson County Sheriff's Office sergeant was killed Saturday afternoon while he was trying to help direct traffic following an accident on US 285 about three miles north of Conifer. The sergeant, identified by the JCSO as 15-year employee Sean Renfro, is survived by his wife and four children. Colorado State Patrol says Renfro and another man, identified as Samual Yesurantnam, 46, stopped to offer assistance after a Mitsubishi SUV lost control and ran off the road. It happened at around 2:40 p.m. at Doubleheader Ranch Road -- about eight miles west of C-470.

California: San Bernardino Deputy Hit by Car
A San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputy was hospitalized after being hit by a car during a foot pursuit in Victorville on Saturday. Officials say the deputy was conducting a check on two pedestrians when they attempted to run away. The deputy chased after them, but was struck by a vehicle near La Paz Drive and Pamela Street.
