  • Texas: Officer Hit by Car During Police Chase; 2 Arrested

    A Killeen police officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon after being hit during a police chase. Police say they responded to reports of a silver Volkswagen Jetta driving recklessly near Stan Schlueter and Central Texas Expressway just before 1:30 p.m. The caller followed the Jetta onto Stan Schlueter, where police then began pursuing the vehicle.

  • Virginia: Galax Police Officer Returns to Work After Being Hit by Car

    A Galax police officer is back on duty this week after being hit by a car last Thursday. Officer Jacob Vaughan came back to work at the police department Tuesday. Vaughan suffered minor leg and back injuries when he was struck by a vehicle during a foot pursuit. It all happened when a prisoner Vaughan was transporting got out of the police car and tried to escape.

  • New York: Firefighter Struck by Fellow Firefighter's Vehicle at Litchfield Fire

    A vehicle driven by a Cedarville firefighter struck a fellow firefighter as they arrived at Tuesday afternoon's fire at 437 Jerusalem Hill Road. Jones Jr., 61, of Winfield, was taken to Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare, St. Luke's campus, with multiple fractures to his leg and arm, state police said. Troopers said a pickup truck, operated by Jared Thayer, 25, of Little Falls, was traveling west on Jerusalem Hill Road responding with his blue lights activated. Thayer said there was heavy smoke and low visibility but was driving around a vehicle parked on the shoulder when he noticed a man with a reflective fire coat trying to get out of the way, troopers said. Thayer applied his brakes but could not avoid striking Jones, troopers report. He was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed under special hazards, troopers said.   • Maryland: State Trooper Hurt as Armored Truck Hits Cruiser Along I-70

    Maryland State Police say a trooper was hurt when an armored truck skidded into his cruiser and another vehicle parked along eastbound Interstate 70 near Myersville.

  • Texas: Corpus Christi PD Officer Struck By Vehicle

    A Corpus Christi Police Officer was injured Monday evening after he was struck by a truck. The officer was directing traffic at the intersection of SPID and Waldron after the power was knocked out to that part of town.

  • Alabama: Trooper Hit by Vehicle Suffers Minor Injuries

    Authorities say a Gilbertown police officer suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a car driven by an elderly woman who may have been having medical issues.

  • Virginia: Police ID Driver Killed After Crashing into Henrico Fire Truck

    A Fredericksburg man was killed after his car ran into a fire truck that was parked along Interstate 295 south at the I-64 interchange in eastern Henrico County Monday morning January 19.

  • Washington: Trooper Hurt in Tukwila Crash

    The deluge of rain and wind Sunday morning January 18, may have contributed to a crash that sent a state trooper to the hospital. The trooper was responding to a rollover crash and had his emergency lights on when another car hit his cruiser on northbound Interstate 5 near Southcenter.

  • New Jersey: Fire Department Vehicles Struck at Rt 42 Crash

    Rain and ice caused a pileup of a dozen vehicles Sunday that damaged a fire engine on a New Jersey Turnpike overpass Sunday. The trouble began when firefighters and an EMS crew responded to a one-car accident on Route 42 in Bellmawr, Fire Chief Jim Burleigh said. The responders blocked the road with a fire engine to protect workers at the scene, Burleigh said. As the EMS crew worked to treat the driver involved in the accident, another car slid on the ice and hit the fire engine.

  • California: Los Angeles PD Officer Struck By Vehicle

    A man rammed an SUV into an undercover Los Angeles police officer conducting a narcotics investigation in Mission Hills Thursday, critically injuring him, and a suspect was detained this afternoon following a 3 1/2-hour manhunt that triggered several school lockdowns.
