Texas: Tractor-trailer slammed into San Antonio fire truck along I-35 while firefighters worked accident call
An 18-wheeler slammed into a fire truck along I-35 that was parked to protect firefighters who were working another accident call during the height of overnight storms that hit the area.
According to a poston the Schertz Fire Department's Facebook page, a platform apparatus was parked along I-35 near FM 1103 to block traffic while firefighters handled an accident scene an 18-wheeler.
"A second tractor trailer struck the front of the apparatus," the post states.
The department says no one was hurt, but "this is a good reminder of the dangers all of our First Responders face out on the highways."
Traffic along I-35 was blocked from 3 a.m. until about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning while the accident scene was cleared.
