Pennsylvania: Fire Police Officer struck at fire scene
A fire policeman was injured while he directed traffic during a two-alarm fire in Adams County on Friday, dispatch said.
The man was struck by a hose from a firetruck as it rounded a corner, according to Northeast Fire EMS Chief Lee Byers. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but his condition was not immediately known.
The fire broke out just before 2 p.m. in the 1800 block of East Berlin Road, Reading Township.
Byers said the structure, a former barn converted into two apartments, is a complete loss. He is ruling the fire accidental for now and puts the loss at approximately $200,000.
