New York: NYPD: Officer Struck by Vehicle in Brooklyn
An NYPD officer was struck by a suspected stolen vehicle in Brooklyn on Friday night, law enforcement sources told NY1. It happened around 11 p.m. near Riverdale Avenue and Chester Street in Brownsville. Sources told NY1's Dean Meminger that the driver backed up and hit the officer, who appears to have suffered a broken leg, after the officer stopped the vehicle near the intersection.
Sources said police fired shots but didn't hit anyone.
No arrests have been confirmed as of this writing. Police are investigating.
