Ohio" Worker hit by vehicle at Route 261 and Summit Road
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a construction worker was struck and slightly injured Tuesday by a vehicle in a “low-speed” crash at Route 261 and Summit Road.
Highway Patrol Sgt. Scott Louive said the crash occurred at about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday when a 2014 Ford Fusion, being driven westbound on Summit Road by a 54-year-old Ravenna man and approaching Route 261, struck a 27-year-old Garrison, Ky., man working for American Pavement Corporation.
The worker was directing traffic in the intersection and was wearing reflective safety clothing when he was struck, Louive said. He suffered minor hip injuries and was taken to a University Hospitals facility by Kent EMS for treatment, he said.
No citations have been issued, and it will be several days before the investigation into the incident is completed, Louive said.
