Texas: Construction Workers Struck
Five people were hospitalized Tuesday morning when a pickup ran off the highway and hit several construction workers in Kaufman County. The crash occurred on westbound Interstate 20 near the Kaufman-Van Zandt County line, east of Dallas, Trooper Kyle Bradford of the Texas Department of Public Safety said. A white Chevrolet Sierra pickup drove onto the left shoulder of the road around 8:30 a.m. and struck two construction workers. It then hit a parked pickup, which struck another pickup in front of it. The two construction workers hit by the Chevrolet and a worker in one of the parked vehicles were airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.
