New Jersey: Two Camden Police Officers Struck by Runaway ATV Driver
Police in Camden are trying to track down the driver of an ATV that struck two officers, sending them both to the hospital for treatment. Officials from the Camden County Police Department stated that on Saturday, August 5th, around 11:15 p.m., Detective Kenneth Egan and Officer Nicole Berry came across a man that was tampering with equipment at East Coast Gas on Broadway and Mount Vernon streets.
As police were getting out of the car, the suspect drove his ATV towards the police car first hitting the passenger door, which then hit Berry. The driver didn't stop and when Egan ran around the back of the police car in pursuit of the suspect and the vehicle, the ATV struck him — knocking Egan into the street.
Both officers were taken to Cooper University Hospital where they were treated and released.
