Wisconsin: Milwaukee police officer struck by vehicle outside Summerfest grounds
An officer for the Milwaukee Police Department's motorcycle unit was injured Thursday night after he was hit by an SUV outside the Summerfest grounds, according to police and fire officials.
The officer was directing traffic about 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of N. Lincoln Memorial Drive and E. Harbor, near Discovery World, when a driver in a small SUV ignored his commands, tried to drive around him and struck the officer, police said.
