Massachusetts: Ipswich Police Officer Struck By Dump Truck
An Ipswich Police officer sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a dump truck while working a road detail on Friday morning.
The officer was working on Linebrook Road, doing a detail for a road paving project, when the officer was struck by a dump truck that was backing up with a load of hot top for the paving job, according to a statement from Ipswich Police.
The officer was transported to the hospital with serious lower leg injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. Ipswich Police and Mass. State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section are investigating the incident.
