New York: Officer in critical condition after being dragged by stolen car
was dragged by a car down a Brooklyn street, officials said.
Police Officer Dalsh Veve, 35, was in critical condition after the Saturday night mayhem, Police Commissioner James O’Neill said.
He underwent surgery Sunday morning.
“No bad news. No bad news is good news,” said Sgt. Costello of the 67th Precinct, one of two dozen cops holding vigil with Veve’s family at Kings County Hospital.
Officer Veve, who works in the 67th Precinct, was one of six plain clothes cops responding to reports of gunshots at a party on Tilden Avenue and 53rd street in East Flatbush just before midnight, cops said.
Veve was speaking with several individuals who were seated inside of a black Honda sedan that was parked by a fire hydrant when the car sped off and dragged him west on Tilden Avenue for about three blocks before he fell free.
