Pennsylvania: Fire Police Officer Struck and Thrown into a Creek
A Cambridge Springs (PA) volunteer Fire Police Officer Robert Repa suffered significant injuries to both legs at the scene of a fire last Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle as he assisted with traffic control. He was struck, thrown over a guard rail and into a creek. His leg injuries were so bad that swelling prevented casts from being put on his legs for several days.

Following the city's first on-the-job death of public works employee Marcus Colbert in January, Laurel Public Works officials are joining staff of the Fairfax County public works department in promoting the nationwide "Slow Down to Get Around" safety campaign for refuse and recycling employees.
