Washington: Paramedic hurt when ambulance rear-ended on I-90

A West Richland ambulance driver was responding to a rear-ended collision on Interstate 90 when she was hit from behind by a Lincoln going too fast. Haylie L. Warren, 24, was driving the American Medical Resource (AMR) ambulance to the scene of a collision about seven miles west of Moses Lake at 2 p.m. Monday, according to the Washington State Patrol. She was slowing in a westbound lane while a black 2013 Lincoln sedan was in the other lane. As the ambulance slowed, the Lincoln tried to change lanes and hit the rear of the emergency vehicle.

“They had their lights and sirens activated,” said Trooper Brian Moore. Warren wasn’t hurt but paramedic Julia Baxter, 51, of Moses Lake, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Samaritan Healthcare and released.
