New York: Port Washington Police Officer Seriously Injured During Police Escort
A Port Washington Police Officer was seriously injured in an accident while assisting the Port Washington Fire Department on Saturday night. The officer was operating a motorcycle during a police escort to the hospital when the accident occurred, according to Port Washington Fire Chief Brian Waterson.
The man was transported to a hospital by Nassau County Police Ambulance where he was treated for serious injuries. Port Washington Police told Patch they would share more details regarding the incident Monday afternoon. Patch will post additional information once it is made available by police.
The Port Washington Police Department wished the officer a speedy recovery in a statement on Facebook: “The Port Washington Fire Department is sending prayers for a speedy and full recovery of a Port Washington Police officer that was involved in a serious line of duty accident tonight while assisting the Port Washington Fire Department. We keep him, his family and his partners in our thoughts.”
