Pennsylvania: Police Officer Struck By Car In Hit And Run In Montgomery County
A uniformed Whitpain Township Police Officer was struck by a car in a hit and run on Thursday evening, police said. The incident occurred at 5:57 p.m. when the officer was near 1900 Pulaski Drive for a call, according to authorities.
He was walking across North Wales Drive when he was struck by a car travelling north, police said. The vehicle stopped for a moment, authorities said, but then fled north. It was described as a small black sedan with tinted windows.
The officer suffered an injury to his left leg and was taken to Einstein Montgomery Hospital for treatment. He was reported to be in stable condition on Thursday night and was expected to be able to return home soon.
