Georgia: Henry County PD officer struck on I-75 while responding to accident
A Henry County Police officer was struck by a car Friday afternoon while the officer was investigating a previous accident on Interstate 75. The officer sustained minor injuries, according to a press release from HCPD spokesman Capt. Joey Smith.
The officer was investigating an accident involving a passenger car and a tractor-trailer near the 212 exit on Interstate 75 southbound, according to Smith. The officer’s vehicle was struck by another vehicle, causing him injury. “The driver of the other vehicle is in custody and was not injured,” Smith stated. He said it is undetermined what charges will be brought against the vehicle’s driver. Two left southbound lanes were closed Friday afternoon as first responders worked the scene of both accidents.
