Pennsylvania: Security guard struck by vehicle, suspect shot
Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a suspect was shot after a security guard at a Pittsburgh public housing complex was struck by a vehicle. The city’s Public Safety department said two security guards at Sandusky Court in the Fineview neighborhood saw a man drive onto the property and park behind a building.
Officials said the guards recognized the man “as someone who did not belong on the property” so they confronted him. A public safety official said the driver’s vehicle struck one of the guards, and the other guard fired as the vehicle fled, hitting the driver in the shoulder.
Both the guard who was struck by the vehicle and the car driver were reported in stable condition at Allegheny General Hospital. Authorities said charges are pending.
