Ohio: Clayton officer hit by truck, to spend night in hospital
The driver who struck a Clayton police officer this morning was issued a citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Dayton Post. The patrol tells us 85-year-old Charles Baker, of Englewood, was driving the Nissan truck that struck Clayton Officer Jim Lock.
Lock has been a part-time Clayton officer since 1978. He primarily works traffic control at Northmont and Northwoods Elementary, according to Clayton Police Chief Matt Hamlin.Hamlin said Lock is being kept overnight at the hospital for observation. His injuries were not considered life-threatening
