Colorado: Officer struck when responding to armed shoplifting in Pueblo
Officers responded to a call of shoplifting around 7:30 p.m. in Pueblo Monday. The store is located at 5627 N. Elizabeth Street. Officers arrived to discover an occupied stolen vehicle parked out front of the store.
In the process of blocking the vehicle in, the driver attempted to run over one of the officers. Shots were fired by officers and the suspect was struck. When the suspect got out of the car, officers immediately began to provide first aid.
The male suspect was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. The investigation is ongoing and no further details regarding the suspect have been released. We will continue to update the story as it develops.
