Kentucky: Mayfield Cop Injured When Hit by Vehicle

A Mayfield police officer was injured Friday when he was struck by a vehicle. Mayfield Police Chief Nathan Kent said Lt. Jason Riegler was leaving the Hall Hotel at 8:50 am, and crossing North 7th Street, which is a one-way street. At the same time, a man was parallel parking a van, and backed into Riegler from the opposite direction. Reigler was knocked to the ground and hit his head on pavement.

Riegler was taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He is a 16-year veteran of the Mayfield Police Department.
