Nevada: Metro officer in foot pursuit, suspect on Strip both struck by vehicle
A Metro officer received some help -- albeit the hard way -- to apprehend a suspect on the Strip early today. The unnamed officer was chasing a suspect on foot about 2 a.m. when both were hit by a vehicle on Las Vegas Boulevard near Flamingo Road.
Police said the officer was trying to detain a suspect when the person fled, running into the street with the officer chasing him. Both were hit by a passing vehicle. The officer and the suspect were taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
