Maryland: Car fire in Maryland sends two people to trauma center

Fire fighters rescued two people from a car fire in Fort Washington on MD-210 at Old Fort Road Monday morning.  The Prince George's County Fire Department says they responded to calls about people being trapped in the car around 2:42 a.m. Fire officials later said there was no entrapment.

The two people were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries but no burns.

Another car hit a Prince George's County Fire truck while it blocked off the road protecting fire crews as they were tending to the car fire. No one was injured but fire officials say the truck took on $10,000 worth of damage and charges are pending against the driver of the car.

The scene has been cleared and the road is now open. Fire officials have not said what may have caused the accident.
