Idaho: Police car struck on Chinden, person of interest sought
Boise police are looking for a person of interest they say who struck a Boise police patrol car during a pursuit Wednesday afternoon. Police are looking for Jeremiah James Newell and the truck police say he forcefully stole.
Police spokeswoman Haley Williams told KTVB just after 4 p.m. officers tried to stop a person of interest near Chinden Boulevard and Coffey Street. They attempted to stop him using a pit maneuver on his vehicle, but were unsuccessful.
The driver then hit an unmarked police car and another vehicle while fleeing the scene. There were no injuries to report in either crash.
The man then abandoned his vehicle and forcefully stole a pickup from another person while holding a knife.
The pickup is a 2001 silver Chevrolet Silverado extended cab with license plate 1A9587G.
Anyone who knows where Newell is located is asked to notify police but should not approach him as he is believe to be armed and dangerous.
