Colorado: Denver officer injured after patrol vehicle rear-ended

An officer suffered minor injuries after a patrol vehicle was rear-ended on Wednesday morning, the Denver Police Department said.  Police said the officer was investigating a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at 17th Avenue when another vehicle struck the patrol vehicle.

The officer was taken to Denver Health Medical Center to be treated for a sore neck and a bump on the head but is expected to be OK. It's not known if the driver of the vehicle that hit the patrol vehicle was injured. There were no injuries in the original crash the officer was investigating. The causes of both crashes are under investigation
