Pennsylvania: Royersford police officer struck by vehicle

A borough police officer directing traffic at an accident scene early Monday was struck by a vehicle. Information posted on the Royersford Police Department Facebook page states the officer was struck at Main Street and Tenth Avenue at 5:47 a.m. He was not seriously injured and is recovering at home, police said.

At the time of the accident, there was steady rain falling, which hampered visibility.

“Please use extreme caution when approaching ANY emergency vehicle with lights activated or an emergency scene,” police said. “Slow down and save a life.”
