Canada: Tow truck driver struck
A tow truck driver was struck by a passing motorist as he came to the aid of another driver, Thursday evening. The operator was loading a disabled vehicle onto his truck on Highway 99, near the Fraser River, about 6:40 p.m. on the shoulder of the northbound lanes.
He had his flashing amber lights activated at the time, when he was struck near the River Road off ramp in Delta. After hitting the tow truck driver, the suspect vehicle fled the area, Deas Island RCMP report. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and has since been released.
The suspect vehicle was described as an older model, white, single cab, Ford F-150 pickup.
