Arizona: Deputy struck by hit-and-run driver in serious condition
A Pima County Sheriff's Deputy remains hospitalized with serious injuries after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver. According to the Sheriff's Department, Deputy Jesus Vilvaldo was working traffic control and was removing cones from Houghton Road near the entrance to the Pima County Fair when he was hit by a vehicle Tuesday night.
Vilvado's injuries are not considered life threatening. Investigators say the car that hit Vilvado drove off but was then stopped by deputies. Deputies arrested Daniel Doubek, 31, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He's been charged with DUI, hit-and-run and aggravated assault
