Utah: Suspect wanted for running over, injuring 2 Springville officers

Two Springville Police officers were injured when two suspects in a vehicle hit them with their car. One of the suspects, 19-year-old Corbin Chandler Decker, is still on the loose.Springville Police responded to the area of 800 block of East Hillcrest Drive shortly before 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning. They went to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway. When officers approached the vehicle, the driver sped off. "And when he got in front of the car, they stepped on the gas," said Lt. Caron. "They smacked him pretty good. Launched him through the air." Springville Police believe 19 year old Corbin Chandler Decker was behind the wheel when he struck two officers.

"He saw him coming. He couldn't get out of the way. And the guy certainly made no effort to miss him. In fact, if anything, it appears that he did it intentionally." Lt. Caron says Decker has a criminal history and the vehicle he was driving was recently reported stolen.

"He's dangerous. He just ran over two of my officers. He's really dangerous. We'd like to get him off the street as quickly as possible before he hurts somebody else." Police found Decker's passenger in the basement of a home nearby and took him into custody. Residents in the area are hoped officers apprehend Decker, quickly, and safely. "You never know when something like that's going to happen. They put their lives out there on the line for us."

Both officers were checked out at an area hospital. Sgt. Warren Foster had a sprained ankle and Officer Kyle Curtis suffered a broken nose and facial lacerations.
