New York: Vestal Police car struck in five-vehicle crash
A five-vehicle crash backed up traffic for more than two hours Sunday. According to the Vestal Police Department, New York State Department of Transportation crews were fixing a pothole on 17 westbound in Vestal Sunday afternoon. A Vestal police officer was parked behind the crews and was slowing traffic down.
According to police, a driver did not notice the slowed traffic and drove into the construction area. The driver struck four other cars including the Vestal police officer's vehicle.
Vestal police said no one was seriously injured, but some drivers suffered minor injuries.
According to Vestal police, the driver who caused the crash was not ticketed, and the accident is still under investigation.
