Michigan: Novi police officer dragged during traffic stop
A Novi police officer was injured after being dragged by a car during a traffic stop early Monday morning. The incident happened near Haggerty and Highpoint south of 9 Mile Road.
Police say the officer pulled over a 26-year-old woman for a driving violation. After stopping, police say she told the officer that she had to get her cell phone to make arrangements. At that time, she took off, dragging the officer after he grabbed her arm to stop her.
The woman also had children in the car, according to police. We're also told she had multiple warrants out for her arrest.
Police say the officer was treated and released after suffering minor injuries. Police know the identity of the driver.
