Maryland: Baltimore officer injured after being dragged by car
A Baltimore police officer was taken to Shock Trauma Tuesday morning after being dragged by a car during a traffic stop, city police said. Police said the officer conducted the traffic stop at about 9:30 a.m. at Mount Royal Avenue and North Calvert Street in Midtown. The driver took off, dragging the officer a couple of hundred feet before fleeing the scene, police said. Police described the vehicle as a silver Acura TL, which was located unoccupied in the 400 block of East 21st Street. The officer, who was able to radio for assistance after being dragged, is listed in serious but stable condition.
Detectives are still trying to identify the driver of the vehicle.
