Canada: Police officer struck by vehicle in Mississauga, minor injuries

One person has been arrested after a police officer was struck by a vehicle on Saturday night. Peel Police said an officer was struck while on regular patrol in Mississauga near Kennedy Road and Courtneypark Drive.

The officer suffered a minor leg injury. The driver fled the scene, near the Apollo Banquet Hall, but was stopped a short distance away. An 18-year-old boy has been charged with fail to remain at the scene, impaired operation of a vehicle, failure to provide a breath sample and two counts of assault of a peace officer.
