In Henrico, a sergeant was assisting a person who's Jeep had spun out when a Camaro spun out and hit the Jeep into the Jeep's driver. A third vehicle then struck the sergeant's car. The sergeant was not injured, but one person was taken to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and two others with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police also responded to several fatal crashes on Monday. One person was killed when they crossed the center line in Fauquier County and struck a snow plow head on. Another person died in Loudoun County when a vehicle rear-ended a backhoe. Both crashes remain under investigation, but police say slick road conditions are a factor.
