South Carolina: • Troopers search for car after tow truck driver, customer injured in hit-and-run
South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are looking for a hit-and-run driver who injured a tow truck operator and his customer on the side of a road in Anderson County. The incident was reported just before 11 a.m. on Highway 24 near Airport Road, according to the Highway Patrol website. A driver from Action Towing was picking up a vehicle when another vehicle came up and hit the customer with his side mirror, then hit the wrecker driver with the car and drove off, a representative from Action Towing said.
The tow truck driver suffered leg injuries, and the customer suffered kidney injuries, the company said.
Neither injury is life-threatening, the company said.
A Med Shore ambulance took both the driver and the customer to AnMed Health Center.
The company said witnesses were only able to describe the vehicle as gray in color.
