South Carolina: Highway patrol releases description of car involved in hit-and-run accident
South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are zeroing in on a suspect vehicle as they look for a hit-and-run driver who injured a tow truck operator and his customer in Anderson County. Highway patrol said they are looking for a 2000-2006 Toyota Corolla 4 door sedan. They said the vehicle is burgundy in color, and the driver's side has a missing mirror. The incident was reported just before 11 a.m. Tuesday on SC-24 near Abercrombie Road, which is near Airport Road, according to troopers.
Chris Bryant, a driver from Action Towing, was parked in the median picking up a customer's vehicle when the incident happened, the owner of the towing company, Don Richard told WYFF News 4.
Another vehicle came up from behind at a high rate of speed and hit the customer with his side mirror, then hit Bryant with the car and drove off, Richard said.
Bryant suffered a crushed leg broken in several places, Richard said.
The customer's name was not released, but Richard said the person suffered a broken arm and kidney injuries.
Neither injury is life-threatening, the company said.
A Med Shore ambulance took both the driver and the customer to AnMed Health Center.
Anyone with information was asked to call the Highway Patrol at 864-241-1000.
