Mississippi: Jackson PD officer struck by fleeing vehicle
A Jackson Police officer was struck by a fleeing vehicle Wednesday night. Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department says officers were conducting a checkpoint on Shady Lane near Raymond Road when a vehicle drove through the checkpoint.
The driver of the vehicle punched the gas and struck an unidentified officer on his arm with the vehicle. The suspect of the vehicle lost control on the highway and was later apprehended. The driver is being interviewed at this time. The officer’s injuries are non-life threatening.
