Michigan: Michigan State Police trooper injured after patrol vehicle hit on I-75

A Michigan State Police trooper was responding to a crash scene when his patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle in snowy conditions on Interstate 75 in Saginaw County. The trooper was at the scene of a crash about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, on southbound I-75 near the Zilwaukee Bridge when his vehicle was struck, according to Saginaw County Central Dispatch.

The trooper will be treated at a local hospital for neck and back pain, Lt. David Kaiser said. The trooper was not identified.

There was no word on the condition of the driver of the second vehicle.

Southbound traffic on the bridge was closed by public safety officials about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday and traffic was routed onto Interstate 675.
