Michigan: Deputy struck in leg by vehicle while directing traffic
An Ottawa County deputy suffered minor injuries after being struck in the leg by a vehicle while directing traffic Friday night. The Ottawa County Sheriff Department say they responded to the scene around 8:30pm on Riley Street and 120th Street.
They say a reserve deputy was directing traffic for an event being held at Eagle Crest Charter Academy when he was struck in the leg by an SUV or Jeep type vehicle. He was brought to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
The deputy was wearing a safety vest at the time of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle is unknown and was last seen driving westbound on Riley Street.
The accident is under investigation.
