Canada: OPP officer struck by vehicle in Prescott, sustains minor injuries
Grenville County OPP are seeking two suspects following incidents in Prescott and Kemptville.
A vehicle that had been reported stolen in Ottawa two Mondays ago was involved in the theft of gasoline from a MacEwen outlet in Kemptville at about 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The vehicle was observed entering Prescott by officers later that night, according to a police news release. An officer and a cruiser were struck while attempting to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle went south on Edward Street and entered an alley on the west side; a male fled the scene on foot, the release notes.
The officer was taken to hospital and released. The cruiser sustained minor damage.
The male suspect is wanted in connection with a theft at the Esso station in Prescott on Saturday at about 8:15 a.m. OPP believe the male frequents the Ottawa, Kemptville and Prescott areas.
There is also a female suspect involved in the theft at Esso. OPP released photos of both suspects.
Grenville OPP indicated on Thursday morning that the suspects have been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
