Oregon: Officer Hit By Fleeing Suspect

A Portland Police officer was on patrol when he observed a early 2000's silver Honda Civic exceeding the speed limit in the area of S.E. 139th and S.E. Mill. The officer went to stop the vehicle. As the officer began the stop the vehicle quickly turned into a driveway, backed out and the accelerated into the officer's patrol car. This resulted in a head on collision.

The suspect vehicle then attempted to flee the area. The vehicle only made it a couple blocks before the driver fled the vehicle on foot. The driver appeared to be a male, white in his early 20's with a red pullover. The officer did not suffer major injuries and appears to be ok at this time.
