Oklahoma: Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper struck by vehicle on I-40 in Pottawatomie County

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was hit by a vehicle along Interstate 40 Tuesday while investigating an accident, and was in serious condition at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Trooper Jason Richardson was struck about 8 a.m. in the eastbound lanes between mile markers 180 and 181 just east of Shawnee in Pottawatomie County. He was investigating a collision involving four vehicles on an icy bridge. Another vehicle slid from the road, flipped and crashed into the trooper in the median, highway patrol Lt. John Vincent said.
