Virginia: Female passenger shot after Henrico officer struck by vehicle
A Henrico officer is recovering after he was struck by a car last night. The officer fired a shot into the car after he was hit. About 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, a Henrico Police officer noticed a suspicious car parked at the gas station in the 3600 block of Nine Mile Road. As he approached the car to see what was going on, the driver sped off and hit the officer.
The officer then fired into the car and hit a female passenger.
Both the officer and passenger were taken to the hospital. Police tell 8News that the officer is going to be okay. There’s been no word on the passenger’s condition.
Police found the driver not far from the scene. He has not officially been arrested but police say they are not looking for anyone else.
