Oklahma: • Sheriff releases name of suspect & injured Westville officer struck in hit-and-run
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy attempted to pull over Brandon Rowan who was driving a White Dodge Durango for a taillight not working. The driver refused to pull over and a high-speed chase ensued through Stillwell into Westville.
The suspect's vehicle topped speeds of 110 mph. At several intersections, officers tried to stop the SUV and detour other vehicles. At least one officer fired his gun at the vehicle to stop it, but no one was hit by the gunshots.
At the intersection of Buffington and Highway 59, a Westville police officer Joshua Sidebottom was standing outside his vehicle when Rowan hit him with his vehicle. Sidebottom was badly injured and rushed to a Washington Regional Medical Center where he is in critical but stable condition.
Officers arrested Rowan, of Westville, on an outstanding warrant.
