Michigan: Two drunken-driving accidents occur within minutes, and other Dearborn Heights police briefs
Two drunken drivers caused quite a scene in the area of Van Born and John Daly at about 10 a.m. Tuesday. According to police, a 33-year-old Dearborn Heights man allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol left the roadway in his vehicle, dove back onto the road and struck a Chevrolet Impala driven by a 60-year-old man.
While emergency crews were working at the scene, a 62-year-old Monroe man who also allegedly was under the influence of alcohol, drove through the same area and hit a door on a Dearborn Heights fire truck.
Before the second accident happened, emergency crews had their lights flashing and the road was noticeably closed off, according to police.
Both drivers were arrested and are being held pending charges. No injuries were reported.
