Idaho: Blaine County deputy hit while investigating crash

A Blaine County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured Monday afternoon while investigating a crash, Idaho State Police said.

According to ISP, traffic control was set up after a crash near milepost 125 on Idaho 75, and the highway was reduced to a single lane.

Blaine County Deputy Philip Rummel was investigating that crash.

ISP said Lauren K. Robideaux, 18, of Hailey was northbound on the highway at about 1:15 p.m. in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, lost control on the icy road and slid into the closed southbound lane.

Police said Robideaux struck Rummel, then hit an unoccupied Blaine County sheriff's pickup.

Rummel was transported to St. Luke's in Ketchum and released with minor injuries.
