Georgia: DUI Driver Slams into Atlanta Police Officer
An off-duty Atlanta Police officer was struck by a suspected DUI driver Saturday, according to authorities.
Police said Officer Eric Jensen was responding to an overturned vehicle around 3:45 a.m. on Interstate 85 South at 17th Street Northwest when he was struck.
FOX 5 obtained exclusive video of the scene following the accident.
Police say the off-duty officer was alert and in good spirits when an ambulance arrived. Officer Jensen was released from Grady Memorial Hospital.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Selina S. Siharath, 20 was charged with DUI, Driver to Exercise Due Care, Reckless Driving and Move Over Law.
