Florida: Teen stole mom's car, knocked over deputy on bike
A Winter Park teen was arrested on Monday after he stole his mother’s car and hit a deputy, who attempted to pull him over on a bicycle.
The teen was walking through a parking lot before getting into a Jeep and driving off when a deputy on a bike stopped him around 3 a.m. on Monday. The deputy said he identified himself as a law enforcement officer after instructing the teen to park the car and roll down the driver side window.
According to the arrest report, the teen questioned the deputy after he was told that his headlights were off and a brake light was out. After multiple attempts to have the teen park the car, the arrest report states that the teen “turned the wheels toward the officer and rolled towards him,” which knocked him off his bike. The teen drove away and collided with another vehicle moments afterwards before running toward a convenience store.
