Connecticut: Wallingford woman charged with DUI, narcotics possession after hitting fire truck
A local woman faces charges after police say she crashed her car into a fire truck while driving intoxicated early Wednesday. Emily Struzik, 33, of 3 Jenna Road, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without insurance and failure to maintain a reasonable distance.
The charges stem from an early morning crash involving a fire truck on North Turnpike Road at Columbia Street, said police spokeswoman Lt. Cheryl Bradley. At about 2:15 a.m., officers responded to the area for the report of a car colliding with a fire truck. Firefighters had to force entry into the car because the driver, identified as Struzik, was unresponsive.
Struzik was not injured in the crash. Firefighters said there was no damage to the fire truck.
Bradley said narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found in Struzik’s car. She was released on $500 bond.
