Colorado: Chief: Suspect Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting ‘Tried To Kill Our Officer’
An officer was struck by a car in Aurora overnight, and a police chase that followed the incident ended in a deadly shooting.
It began just before 4 a.m. Monday when the Aurora officer was struck and injured by a vehicle at East Alameda Avenue and Interstate 225. Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz said at a news conference that the officer stopped to help what he believed to be a stranded motorist.
“One of the occupants exited, got out and frankly, viciously attacked my officer,” Metz said. “The suspect tried to kill our officer.”
